This phone is launched by xiaomi in china. We can expect its launch in August in India (according to rumors).The most important thing is that it has been launched at 1800 Yuan (18000 rupees approx.).

   

Design

Mi 8 SE is not a flagship like Mi 8 and Mi 8 explorer edition but Mi 8 SE looks like a flagship. The fact that I like is that this is not an Iphone 10 clone like Mi 8 is. Mi 8 SE looks unique and beautiful. Glass back and metal frame just looks great. I like the design of Mi 8 SE, it is compact and feels great while holding it.

Display

Another thing to like on this phone is its display. It’s got a 5.88 inch Super Amoled FullHD+ display which is really awesome.

Its resolution is 2244*1080p (FHD+) 424 ppi. It has amoled display so the colors it produces is awesome. Samsung and other smartphones have amoled display but you know them when it comes to performance.

Performance

Mi 8 SE is the first smartphone to have the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. It is the first processor from Qualcomm of 700 series, it is better than snapdragon 660 what we saw on the nokia 7 plus, vivoX21i etc. Its got a dedicated AI engine, its got a better Adreno 616 GPU. It have been built on a 10 manometer technology so we can expect better performance and power efficient. Xiaomi made a great decision going with snapdragon 710.

Camera

The phone comes with 12MP F/1.9 + 5MP F2.0 dual camera setup on the back and it has EIS, the portrait mode and AI camera option which detect the scene for better quality photos.

The Mi 8 se comes with 20MP F/2.0 single front camera which has a portrait mode.The camera on the Mi 8 SE is really promising even it is a mid-range phone.

It’s too early to judge the camera but wait for our full review in future and we will also be comparing with its compatitors.

Battery

The Mi 8 SE comes with 3,120 Mah battery which is good enough for day to day usage. It also supports fast charging there is quick charge 3.0 support, which is nice but weird since snapdragon 710 supports the latest 4.0 technology. Let’s hope the Indian variant comes with quick charge with 4.0.

Features

As for the connectivity the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE comes with a lot of options such as Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, USB type-C and 4G with VoLTE. Fingerprint sensor at back and face unlocking is also there.
